Almond crescent cookies
Sweet Lisa is in my book-club and made these delicious and buttery cookies for our cookie exchange. The recipe is from her grandmother (Melissa Tristano).
4 sticks unsalted butter (450 gr. or 2 cups or 1 lb.)
4 cups flour (500 gr.)
1/2 cup sugar (112 gr.)
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chopped almonds
1 lb (1 box) confectionary sugar (450 gr.)
Preheat oven at 350F.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add remaining ingredients and beat until stiff.
Form into moon shapes.
Bake for 20-25 minutes (do not brown tops).
“Dunk” (Lisa’s words) into confectionary sugar when warm and again after cooling.
